5 Stars!

Nothing else mattered, because nature’s wrath couldn’t compare to this.
I was blown away with this book!

The reunion scene alone would have been enough. Luckily for me (and you), there’s so much more.Wow! Action, answers, confessions, apologies, anguish, promises, ghosts, voodoo and gators. And some of the hottest sex around. CraZy shaking need!!!

OH, and one of the best “mine” moments ever! Okay, so it’s a little erotic, but I thought it was perfect.

Oh, oh…and the “gooseflesh.” Oh jeez, yeah I am really just all about these two guys and their story.

"No one's ever taken care of you back, Proph. You have to fucking let me.""I don't know how," Prophet said, and Tom sighed internally because that wasn't a no. Not by a long shot.
Tommy Boudreaux - It seems like everyone’s out to get Tommy in this book. But mostly, it’s about Prophet “getting” him.

Guess you don’t need flashbacks if you’re living the real thing.
Prophet Drews - Working himself nearly to death to forget about Tommy and to still his flashbacks we learn much, maybe too much, about Prophet’s past.

Side Characters -
Mick and Blue – I can’t tell if I want to chase or be chased. Damn these two!
Cillian – Someone wants to kill you? Really? Huh.
Mal – Oh boy, I think you have a lot to say. I’m a goner for Mal!!!
Roger and David – "Roger and Dave enjoyed the show,…" You’ll enjoy Roger and Dave too.

If working with Prophet had taught him anything, it was that promises were dangerous, especially if they were worthwhile.
Tommy and Prophet have been separated for four miserable months. Tommy's training
in N. Africa, but sends daily emails to Prophet that are completely ignored,

The Blurb:

Soldier of fortune Prophet Drews always worked alone—until Tom Boudreaux became his partner. But when Tom walked away three months ago, ostensibly to keep Prophet safe, Prophet learned the true meaning of being alone. Everyone knows that Prophet, a Navy SEAL turned CIA spook turned mercenary, can look after himself. Which means he must’ve driven his lover away.

Even with half a world between them, Prophet can’t get the man out of his head. Maybe that’s why he’s in New Orleans in the middle of a hurricane, protecting Tom’s aunt. But the only looter around is Tom, bursting back into Prophet’s life. It turns out that Prophet’s been stuck in Tom’s head—and heart—too.

Their explosive reunion gets even hotter when Tom is arrested for murder. As they fight to clear his name, they delve deep into his past, finding enemies among everyone they meet. Staying alive in such a dangerous world is hard enough, but they soon discover that fighting to stay together is the most difficult thing they’ve ever done.

leaving Tommy to believe Prophet has moved on.

Prophet finally reads all of the emails, all 122 of them, in one sitting, and then promptly finds himself heading into the heart of a New Orleans hurricane. He may not want to reopen his wounds, but he knows he can’t deny Tommy’s voodoo instincts.

Best Scene: I’m torn between the muddy tackle and the “ladder” scenes. No, I’m not. The muddy scene for sure, but damn, the “ladder” is hot.

This book reads like greased lightening. I blew through it. And then I read it again. It slows down just a bit in the middle, but there weren't any dull moments. It was all...

action/sex/action/confession/action/sex/sex/sex/plot development/action/sex……

S.E. Jakes has a habit of closing one door and then opening another. She keeps me on my toes with a plot that is complex enough to keep me interested, but rewards me with solid explanations...all in her sweet time.

I think it goes without saying that I can’t wait for the next book. I’m just enjoying this series so much and find I really need the rest of the EE universe too.

The other thing he knew for sure was that sex gave them a way to tell each other all the things they couldn't bring themselves to say out loud.

I would like to sincerely thank S.E. Jakes and Riptide Publishing for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4 Stars!

In a nutshell, this is geekdom meets nerdom. Magic happens between the two main characters and it’s fun to be along for the ride. Although I think this book will find its audience; it just may be a very specific audience. The continuous pop culture references will be too much for some. But, for those who love the geek scene, this story was written for you. It is unique, fresh and romantic.

I loved most of it, but I did have some troubles here and there. The story arc was fine: first passion, then drama, then heartache, then repair. However I found myself having to fill in some blanks and connect some dots. There were many areas where I just had to “go with it” and hope it all came together, and it did.

I fell hard for Trip and Silas, it just took some work to do it.

Trip Spector - Shy, reclusive, inhibited and artistically gifted. His introversion keeps him from experiencing life, until he meets his superhero.

He’d never imagined a world where his art and his heart mingled and smeared together, the possibilities explosive and infinite.

Silas Goolsby - Handsome, attention seeking and artistically talented. Silas has earned his good looks and his reputation , but he’s wonderfully down to earth. Trip is his perfect sex demon, if only Silas can convince him to come “out” and play.

Side Characters
Kurt – Gotta, gotta, gotta have his story.
Ziggy – Yeah, and his.
Cliff – Hate him!
Max – The wisest of them all.
The women in this story; Rina, Jillian especially, will make you stand up and cheer. They’re real, familiar and full of witty wisdom.

“Only strangers can be perfect.”

Trip meets Silas at a zombie event where there’s instant attraction but no hooking up. It’s actually a nice slow burn to relationship building. The first “encounter” they have is sultry and incredibly sexy. Public sex meets repressed lust. That scene will be with me for a long, long time, whew!

Trip and Silas are two guys who couldn’t need each other more. They’re surrounded by assholes, shysters, geniuses, friends, unboyfriends

The Blurb:

Some mistakes are worth making.

Reclusive comic book artist Trip Spector spends his life doodling super-square, straitlaced superheroes, hiding from his fans, and crushing on his unattainable boss until he meets the dork of his dreams. Silas Goolsby is a rowdy FX makeup creator with a loveless love life and a secret streak of geek who yearns for unlikely rescues and a truly creative partnership.

Against their better judgment, they fall victim to chemistry, and what starts as infatuation quickly grows tender and terrifying. With Silas’s help, Trip gambles his heart and his art on a rotten plan: sketching out Scratch, a “very graphic novel” that will either make his name or wreck his career. But even a smash can't save their world if Trip retreats into his mild-mannered rut, leaving Silas to grapple with betrayal and emotions he can't escape.

What will it take for this dynamic duo to discover that heroes never play it safe?

and more nerds. Despite their friends, or more likely because of them, the relationship that Silas and Trip develop is sweet and charming and fraught with hidden insecurities that linger just at the edge of the page. Their love of everything counterculture helps them create a comic masterpiece. They find themselves, and each other, within their work.

If pop culture, comics, FX and gay romance is your thing, this book is your thing. If endless catch phrases, slang and made up vernacular isn’t, this might not be your book.

This is where I struggled. I found this to be a little bit awkward to read. Surprisingly, to me, the terminology and all the references to pop culture didn’t confuse me. In fact, I was delighted to find that I could follow along and even enjoy the frequent references. That part was fun. However, during the dialog, I found that the responses didn’t match the ongoing conversation. I had to back up often to see if I had skipped something. When I couldn’t make sense of it I had to fill in the blanks, or as I said earlier, just “go with it.” I guess the conversations just didn’t flow smoothly for me. Generally the point was made, but getting to the point was sort of rough.

This story felt like it was very personal to Mr. Suede. Like it was something that he wanted to explore, for himself, and not written to simply appease a typical mm reader, that’s wonderful and I couldn’t respect that more. Maybe that is why I got off track in places though. It almost felt like the author was seeing something in his mind’s eye but didn’t quite get it on the page.

Character-wise Mr. Suede does an excellent job of hooking you. The imagery is spot on and I knew where I was all the time. Even during a few slower chapters I was completely connected to Trip and Silas. When it came to Kurt and Ziggy I was even more engrossed. I couldn’t get enough of them. Indeed I’m asking for more. I just hope it’s a bit smoother.

Cover Reveal: Stripped Clean by Ellis Carrington

I am delighted to be part of the Cover Reveal Blitz for Ellis Carrigton's - Stripped Clean

Stripped Clean
by Ellis Carrington

Carlos O'Shea is stuck. He knocked-up a girl in college after a night of too much drinking, and then married her to be honorable. With little money, fewer options, and no degree, he winds up cleaning the floors in a small town gentleman's club and thinking desperate thoughts about the handsome owner that'll lead to
nothing but trouble.

Greg Moorehouse only invested in a nudie bar to help his best buddy out of a financial crisis. Now his drug-dealing ex boyfriend, his reverend father, and a parade of surgically-enhanced DD's are driving him insane. But what's really stripped him of all good sense is his growing obsession with his married employee, Carlos.

They circle each other in a push-pull of misunderstandings and growing attraction. Carlos needs to get his boss out of his head, and Greg can’t abide cheaters and married men. So what are a strip club owner and the guy who cleans going to do with their undeniable desires?

Please note: This is an adult GLBT romance (male/male romance), for mature readers only. Contains explicit love-making between two hot-blooded men, angsty dark moments, and cupcake-baking exotic dancers.

Available for purchase at

(iTunes coming soon)

Greg glanced at Carlos’s hand. “You still aren’t wearing your ring. Were you actually married, or was that some kinda fucked-up story?”
Carlos groaned and stared up at the morning sky. “She moved out, which was why I came by the club. I wanted to talk, but you were otherwise engaged.” He coughed a laugh. “I’m not sure what kind of crack I was smoking thinking that we were that kind of friend. You’re my boss for crying out loud.”
“Oh.” Greg pressed his lips together, nodding with mock agreement. “That’s very mature. While we’re being mature, should I trot out the liar-liar-pants-on-fire argument, because I’m pretty sure I saw you kissing that guy in there.”
Carlos thumped down the barely-holding-it-together wood stairs. “You did not see me kissing him in there. Did. Not.”
“Looked a hell of a lot like kissing.” Greg’s insides washed in relief, but he wasn’t sure he was ready to buy what Carlos was selling.
Carlos leaned close. “I handed him,” he said slowly, “a cup of coffee. We were talking. Our faces were close. The screen’s kinda thick on that living room window. Not the most conducive for spying, Greg.”
Oh Jesus. “I wasn’t spying I just happened— You know what? Whatever.” He spread his arms out wide. Took a step back. “So your wife being gone has nothing to do with you humping my leg in your sleep and coming in your pants?”
Carlos didn’t answer, but his face flushed a hot red that would have been sexy if Greg hadn’t been so pissed.
“Yeah. Listen,” Greg said. “This ain’t exactly an out-and-proud part of the country, man. Nobody knows better than I do. I’ve had my share of run-ins.” He stepped backward. Suddenly his stomach was full of rocks and he needed to get back to his car. “I still trusted you.” He nodded again, more to himself this time than to Carlos. “Gotta be honest, that you didn’t? Stings some.”
“Hey.” Carlos’s long legs ate up the distance between them. He gripped Greg’s shoulder with strong, dark fingers and pushed him back against the alcove over the front door, kissing hard.
Oh God. His distant memory of kissing Sammy had nothing on kissing Carlos. This was fire. Passion. Greg’s mouth came alive with Carlos’s lips on his. Their tongues slid together. His cock hardened as their bodies pressed in all the right places. Electricity shot through his veins when Carlos’s teeth grazed his tongue.
Carlos moaned and repositioned his mouth, kissing over and over. Harder. Harsher. Grinding erection against erection, twisting the fabric of Greg’s shirt in his hand.
Greg’s brought his hands to Carlos’s shoulders, and whether he was holding tighter or pushing away, he couldn’t quite tell even to himself.
Carlos pulled away, and Greg was still gasping when Carlos whispered in his ear, “I’m awake now, Greg.”

About the Author

Romance requires a hopeful ending and that is why Ellis Carrington is driven to write it. She loves to create original stories that are gritty, witty, and a little unexpected, just like the heroes who inhabit them. 3 Delighted Stars

Originally reviewed on the Happily Ever After Hangout and broadcast live on YouTube. Check it out:

A Perfect Solution may be the perfect way to ease into m/m bdsm. There isn’t anything dark or even too twisted here and the friends to lovers romance turns out sweet.

River - “River sashayed” right into my heart. I like boys who know how to sashay and River seems to excel at it. He also bounces, pouts and flings himself, dramatically.

River’s grin took on that manic edge they’d all learned to be wary of. He shoved at Jeff’s shoulder playfully. “I’m not jumping, silly; I’m bouncing.” The way he reverently breathed the word “bouncing” was enough to show exactly just what kind of frenetic state he’d already whipped himself into.

Jeff - A little grumpy, a little grouchy, but also the mother-hen of the band. Jeff likes to keep his ducks in a row, but River is just always out of line. Let’s see if Jeff has a way to whip his best friend into shape. Btw, there is no whipping in this story.

It felt so good to just hold River close in the quiet of the night, like he was already taking good care of him; Jeff had never wanted anything more than that. He tried to tell himself he’d never need more than that.

River is the hyper lead singer of Caged Hearts. The band has achieved success, meaning they live their lives on the road, with each other...all the time. Luckily they all get along well, it’s just that River can’t seem to settle after a night on stage. Someone has to help him calm down and that task falls to Jeff. Fortunately, Jeff has the perfect solution to help River. Unfortunately, the solution just uh…unsettles Jeff.

This is a delightful, little, first-timer bdsm. Have no fear here. However, have no high expectations of deep, dark whips, chains and leather either. This is a kinder, gentler bdsm story and the best parts are the discussions and negotiations that bring these two lovers together. I think their talk on the bus is my favorite part.

I found the writing to be slightly stiff in places, but over all competent. As the story builds things smooth out.

The Blurb:

River is the charismatic lead singer of Caged Hearts and it's an open secret that the vibrant energy he displays on stage doesn't bleed away as soon as he's out from under the lights. That sometimes causes considerable friction with his bandmates.

Jeff is the guitarist for Caged Hearts, but he's not your typical party-hard rockstar. He's far more focused on taking care of everyone in his band--especially River.

An offhand comment from Jeff inadvertently helps River discover his submissive side, and he asks Jeff to help him continue to explore those desires. While Jeff is turned on by the idea, he's also reluctant. There's no telling what it could do to the band and his friendship with River. Especially when Jeff wants so much more than just sex.

I might wish for a bit of River’s pov, but this was written from Jeff’s perspective. I suppose that’s just because I enjoyed River’s character so much and wanted more of him. Who know’s, maybe there’s more to come. In any event, I'd like to read more from A.E. Lawless.
